Young Talent Teams Challenge

This year, instead of a Challengers Section in the KL Open 2009, we have, in line with the newly launched KL Young Talent Development Program in conjunction with Polgar Chess Asia, the KL Young Talent Chess Team Challenge with four teams of peers participating by invitation.

Indonesia is the favourite but like Singapore (represented by Serangoon Chess Club) is also joining the teams from KLCA and Polgar Chess University Asia in opting for exposure rather than results with younger line ups rather than the maximum age allowed!

We also have an unusual format with the teams of six having three under 14 players and three under 10 players respectively also participate in a Scheveningen style competition and so we have three competitions in one, team, under 14, and under 10.
